This year we are delighted to be running some adventure weeks that include accommodation at the Lodge on the Loch. A unique Scottish holiday retreat situated on the shores of Loch Sligachan. This beautifully designed bunkhouse sleeps 8 in 2 rooms with cosy bunks and boasts uninterrupted views of the Loch looking out over to Braes and Rassay.

What we do

We run inspirational and tailor made adventures on land and sea all over Skye. Climb mountains, follow ridges and rivers to amazing coastlines and swim in the sea. Whether you want to bag a few Munros, go sea cliff climbing, traverse the Cuillin ridge or go gorge walking or coasteering- we have something for you! Our guides are local, experienced and qualified.

About the Lodge on the Loch

The Lodge sleeps up to 8 people comfortably in nautically themed single cabin beds within two bedrooms. As standard each bunk has lights, USB charging points and sockets. There are two shower rooms both equipped with power/rain showers. The central gathering room has a panoramic window with ever changing views, this room has a vaulted ceiling, large comfortable sofas all set around a fabulous wood burning stove. It has a contemporary well equipped kitchen where you can cook up a storm then enjoy your meal whilst sat around the very sociable dining table!

Below are two of the courses we are running, prices include accommodation and guiding, extra £12 per person per night for a delicious home cooked and hearty meal from Morag the bunkhouse owner!

This is the most demanding mountaineering route in the U.K! It’s an amazing challenge for lovers of narrow ridges, massive exposure and exciting climbs. You'll need a good combination of fitness and scrambling ability to complete two demanding days and an overnight bivouac on the ridge. If you’re keen for this course please get in touch with us for a chat.

Includes 5 nights accommodation and 4 days of guiding.

Course outline

Day 1- Ridge shake out, get onto the ridge and do some scrambling, possibly stash some treats.

Day 2- Climbing skills and kit prep day, abseiling and rock climbing at a local sea cliff followed by packing kit for your traverse attempt.

Day 3- Set off by boat from Elgol to start the traverse and finish the day sitting high above the corries at our secluded bivvy spot.

This is a course for adventure lovers, we will aim to take on the best scrambling the Cuillin has to offer and some lesser known routes too, all adjusted to your ability. We’ll teach you about all aspects of mountaineering , ideal if you want to become more independent in the hills.

Includes 4 days of scrambling on the Cuillin ridge, 5 nights accommodation.

Course outline

Day 1 - A day for lovers of short walks, after introductions and some planning we will pick a route that involves the most scrambling and the least walking possible!

Day 2- A day to get technical, ideally take Collies route onto the Cioch, this is the best lunch spot on Skye and will involve some intricate ropework in amazing surroundings.

Day 3- Get ridgey with it! We’ll go find a lovely exposed section of the ridge. Classic sections can include An Doras to Bruach Na Frithe.

Day 4- Finish with a classic, we’ll aim to do a bigger route, something like the Dubh slabs. Putting all our skills together and end on a high note.

Routes and days can be changeable to suit the weather and your ability.
